The event will feature several speakers, vendors, lunch, a fashion show — and a hat contest for those who want to go all out for the Derby Day theme. The main attraction is the lineup of women speakers, the theme, Women Leading the Way!
Natacha Douglas, French Creperie
Born in Guadeloupe, a region of France, Dr. Natacha Douglas Graduated with a MBA and a Doctorate of Health Professions Education in the United States. She is a Charismatic Leader, Professional Strategist, Author, Mentor, Speaker, and Entrepreneur who moved to the US when she was 20 years old.
Dr. Natacha Douglas has spent most of her career in higher education, becoming one of the youngest vice presidents in higher education. Her passion for her French culture is the result of founding French Crêperie to serve customers hungry for sweet and savory crêpes while creating the ultimate French crêpe experience.Jannette Neely, Nothing Bundt Cakes
Jannette Neely is the owner of six Nothing Bundt Cakes franchises in the St Louis market. Over the past 9 years, Jannette has successfully built teams of employees at each location to assist all guests in providing bundt cakes and most importantly “Bring the Joy!” to their celebration. Since pioneering Nothing Bundt Cakes in the area, Jannette has focused on brand awareness while marketing. Each bakery has received top sales awards year after year. Also, Jannette received the LOVE award in recognition of going above and beyond for her employees.
Before her career with Nothing Bundt Cakes, Jannette worked in the retirement industry for 8 years in 401(k) administration. Besides being an advocate for 15,000+ employees, she was in business development setting up and keeping retirement plans compliant. She was able to grow the business from 80 accounts to 400 accounts in 3 years.
Jannette’s entrepreneurial spirit began in beverage distribution where she had limited product lines. She increased distribution to include premium sodas, energy drinks and private label water. She also grew her retailers to national grocery chains, including Walmart.
After graduating from Notre Dame High School in St Louis, Jannette moved to Louisiana. While raising her family, she completed her education with a Bachelor of Science Business Degree at Louisiana State University.
Jannette’s passion is empowering her teams through the opportunities created. She enjoys traveling with her husband and visiting grandchildren!Cheryl Funkhouser, Chesterfield Chief of Police
Funkhouser has been with Chesterfield for 28 years and previously worked as an officer in University City. She currently serves as commander of Chesterfield's Division of Operational Support. During her career, Funkhouser has served as a field training officer, bicycle patrol officer and D.A.R.E. officer. She was a department instructor and also served as an instructor at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy. In 2005, Funkhouser was promoted to the rank of sergeant and in 2011 to lieutenant. In 2017, she was promoted to the rank of captain.
