    About Us

Founded in 1873, Southeast Missouri State University is Missouri's most academically competitive comprehensive, regional university. With nearly 12,000 students, Southeast offers 200 areas of study with numerous academic accreditations and is the only university in Missouri to have a separate campus dedicated to art, dance, music and theatre. Approximately 30-40% of Southeast’s incoming freshman class comes from the St. Louis metropolitan region. In addition, the region is home to more than 21,000 Southeast Missouri State University graduates. As a result, alumni and corporate engagement in the St. Louis region is vital to Southeast’s growth and success. The Southeast Missouri State University St. Louis Outreach Office, located in Chesterfield, is home base to three full-time University staff members. Quen Agnew is an Employer Relations/Career Specialist working with area employers to grow internship and placement opportunities for Southeast students. Shannon Bishop is the Assistant Director of Online Marketing currently focused on growing enrollment in Southeast’s nationally ranked online degree programs. Chris Martin is the Director of Corporate Relations working as a campus liaison to the St. Louis corporate community and securing individual and corporate support for the Southeast Missouri State Foundation. Together, Quen, Shannon and Chris work closely with strategic partners across the St. Louis to benefit the entire Southeast campus, its students and alumni.
